Arjun

Arjun has been wildlife for 15 years. Having grown up in India’s Rich Bio-diversity hotspot “The Western Ghats”, his fervor for wildlife sparked off with a trip to Nagarhole National Park in the year 2002. By education, Arjun is a post-graduate in Zoology from Bangalore University.

As a student he traveled across the length and breadth of India, to quench his thirst for learning more about wildlife. His opportunity to be a full-time Naturalist came across when the Orange County Resorts, Kabini offered him to be a Naturalist for their wildlife resort in Nagarhole in 2009.

Arjun has a rich experience in wildlife interpretation and has led many prestigious wildlife groups; he also has assisted many international researchers and filmmakers in the field. He has spearheaded the Training and Consultancy wing of The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambore, and The Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge, Tadoba. He has also worked closely with the Karnataka Forest Department in various field programs including wildlife census operations, training of forest guards, and wild elephant capturing operations. An adventure lover himself, he has traveled extensively to different wildlife sanctuaries.

He has been pivotal in running an intensive in-house Training program for Kurumba Nature Resorts, Nilgiris, The Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge, Tadoba, and The Oberoi Vanyavilas, Ranthambore and has trained many Naturalists, who are instrumental in providing an interpretative safari experience for Guests. This training program has been the first of its kind in India which sets high standards for the wildlife tourism industry, bringing this at par with world standards.

Arjun is an avid speaker in seminars and workshops on wildlife and eco-tourism. He has contributed many articles, and wildlife photographs to various NGOs working for wildlife conservation. Arjun is a staunch believer in motivating and guiding the younger generation to work and contribute toward wildlife conservation.
